Recommended Pre-race Inspection

This is a recommended visual inspection that should be done by owner/driver's prior to any racing at any track or function. These checks will make sure the above items meet a minimum safety guideline at the time the inspection was performed. It is recommended that this inspection be performed prior to each racing event and/or after any significant repairs are performed to the vehicle. This does not insure the safe operation of the inspected vehicle. Racing is a hazardous sport, which causes stress on all working pieces. It is the owner/driver's responsibility to maintain and keep their vehicle in safe working order.

Inspect for:

Helmet - must be Snell 98 or Newer - gloves - neck brace

Front suspension - steering - wheels

Inspect Tightness of:

King Pins - Tie rods - Wheel bearings - Wheels & Tires

Inspect for Safety wire/cotter pins:

King pin bolts - tie rod bolts - Front wheel hubs - steering shaft - Steering

wheel (both shaft nut & 3 hub bolts)

Inspect for:

Protruding bolts - no bolts should protrude more than a 3/8" beyond nut

Engine - Exhaust

Inspect for Safety wire/cotter pins:

Exhaust pipe mounting bolts (4cyls. MUST be lock wired)

Inspect for:

Loose bolts - Loose covers - engine mount tightness

Exhaust pipe must have either washer - muffler - flared end

Rear axle - Brakes

Inspect for Safety wire/cotter pins:

Brake caliper - Brake rotor - axle snap rings

Inspect for:

Loose bolts - proper use of lock collars(at axle bearings & wheel hubs) - wheels tight

Inspect:

All bolt or studs for protrusion of more than 3/8" past nut or safety fastener

Body for loose of broken panels (anything that could come off on track)
